Winter Festival a Long Time Tradition

If you’re a local, you know we’re heading into the best days of winter here in Prince Albert as we gear up for the Winter Festival 2023. Are you familiar with the Prince Albert Winter Festival? We are long time supporters of the festival. We encourage everyone to appreciate a cool Canadian winter in this most fun and exciting way; honouring old and celebrating new traditions!

Speaking of new traditions, we thought it would be an amazing idea to introduce a 22 competition into the program. Not only will we promote the national past time of millions of Canadians but we’ll continue to encourage the safe and responsible use of firearms. Bring out your family and friends for a great afternoon of fun and excitement. 🤩

Register for the Snowflake 22 Competition

Registration is on now and must be completed by February 8th to be entered into the competition. The event runs from 1-6 and is dependent on the number of people who enter the competition. Time slots will be allotted if there are more than 20 competitors. Fee is $15 plus a PA Winter Festival button ($3) sold at Northern Elite Firearms and other retailors across the city. The Snowflake Competition will be hosted at our range here in Prince Albert. All contestants will use the Ruger 10/22 provided, with iron sights, in the standing position. There will be three rounds where each competitor will shoot 5 .22LR cartridges. Targets will be scored by the judge(s) and the top target in each category wins. Two prizes of $250 Visa Gift Cards will be given to the top shooters in each category: Beginner and Advanced. In the case of a tie, we will have a shoot-off – TBA, if necessary.

Beginner – less than 10 hours shooting experience

Advanced – more than 10 hours shooting experience

All targets, plus eye & ear protection will be provided. No gun license required so that means everyone can test their skills no matter what their level is. Range officers and judges will be present to ensure optimal safety and fairness.

This is a wonderful activity for families with children & teenagers looking for something different to do during the 2023 Prince Albert Winter Festival. You could walk away with $250 just for having fun! We’ll have a snow sculpture on site as well as some hot chocolate to sip on to warm up your fingers right before you shoot.
