The year started out with a BANG for sure and I (em)brace for the ricochet – it sure seemed like a wild month.

I’m still torn about getting the permanent ban from Facebook. Yes, boohoo. Woah is me. Roger. I did find myself in a bit of a slump, however, now I’m beginning to face the fact that I must continue on. The hard part is acknowledging I have to start (sort of) from scratch. So before I get into this month I will guide you to my Instagram pages where I’m kinda’ in and kinda’ out.  Understand Instagram is but another string in the “Metaverse” and so I will proceed with caution knowing I can lose all the time and effort I put into it. Here’s the link to our business profile on IG. https://www.instagram.com/northernelitefirearms/ You can also check out my personal profile but again I’m not using it as regularly as I once was with Facebook; additionally, IG has pretty much banished me to the bottom of the platform so no one sees my posts anyway.

Now onto the regularly scheduled updates.

International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC)

We are officially organizing an IPSC club once again here in the city. It’s an exciting opportunity as the IPSC organization was stagnant in the community for many years and now it’s coming back to life.  As a matter of fact, I believe the first match we hosted here in December was the first one in 25 years!  There was a great turn out and a few spectators who came in to watch what it was all about – I’m honoured to be a part of a community of amazing shooters!  Fast forward to this weekend where we’ll be hosting our second match on February 4th from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.  I have to admit that the sport of IPSC is incredibly intriguing and the ideal training for anyone with a handgun. While I won’t get into much detail about IPSC, the focus is on accuracy, power, and speed.  For more information on training with a sidearm, follow this link: http://www.ipsc-canada.org/

I’m fifth from the left in the photo below and I came in first in my division – I am so stoked for the next match this weekend.  This style of shooting definitely has me establishing new physical health goals as the extra weight held around the torso makes it uncomfortable to wear a belted holster.  All in all, I’m all in for IPSC and look forward to progressing at every stage.  Alpha, alpha!
